Lounge Chair ‘Valentino’ by Tim Bates for Pieff, UK 1970s
An iconic chair named Valentino and designed in the 1970s by Tim Bates for Pieff of Worcester.
At the extreme end of decadent interiors, Pieff unashamedly presents us with this bold design.
Slick chrome boxed edges are wrapped around contemporary brown leather with a stunning aged patina.
This is a lifestyle piece designed for the best homes of its era.
Presented in very nice vintage condition, with decent creasing to the supple brown leather just the right amount of wear.
The cushions are a little baggy due to its age and use which you can see from the images.
The chrome is in excellent condition and shines intensely.
This design is usually described as Mandarin chair, but actually only the coffee table from this serie was called Mandarin in the original catalogue, where this chair was named as Valentino.
The Pieff brand label is designed into the underside of the fabric.
Pieff was one of the most important manufacturers of high end British furniture.
They designed and manufactured furniture during 1960s and 1970s, primarily for Harrods and Heals.
