Oyster F157 lounge chair by Pierre Paulin for Artifort – 1960s

Stylish Oyster lounge chair model F157 designed by Pierre Paulin in 1959 for Artifort, Netherlands. This easy chair has the original and early edition nickel plated frame of the first generation which has gained a lovely patina due to age and usage. The Oyster was in the Artifort collection until 1979 and on request Artifort brought it back into production in 1999. The new and reproduced edition of this chair comes with a chrome-plated and differently shaped frame in a smaller size. This large original edition of the Oyster chair is no longer in production.

The chair is in very good condition with luckily the original woolen ‘De Ploeg’ fabric which is in remarkable good condition!
