Neo-Classical Side Table, early 20th century

An early 20th century side table made of yellow copper (brass) and red copper. The panel top is made of wood, covered with painted thin stone tiles and lacquered. The table is very heavy, approx 28 kg!

This technique is so rare that we did not make any progress in our research on this table.

What we do know is that it is a very beautiful table.

The origin is probably France or Italy.

Pieff Lounge Chair 'Valentino' by Tim Bates, 1970s

An iconic chair named Valentino and designed in the 1970s by Tim Bates for Pieff of Worcester.

At the extreme end of decadent interiors, Pieff unashamedly presents us with this bold design.

Slick chrome boxed edges are wrapped around contemporary brown leather with a stunning aged patina.

This is a lifestyle piece designed for the best homes of its era.

Presented in very nice vintage condition, with decent creasing to the supple brown leather just the right amount of wear.

The cushions are a little baggy due to its age and use which you can see from the images.

The chrome is in excellent condition and shines intensely.

This design is usually described as Mandarin, but actually only the coffee table from this serie was called Mandarin in the original catalogue, where the chair was named as Valentino.

The Pieff brand label is designed into the underside of the fabric.

Pieff was one of the most important manufacturers of high end British furniture.

They designed and manufactured furniture during 1960s and 1970s, primarily for Harrods and Heals.

Montis Sofa The Rock by Gerard van den Berg, 1970s

“The Rock” or “Florence” Lounge Sofa by Gerard van den Berg for Montis, Dutch Design 1970s

This is a two-seats sofa from the Florence series, better known as “the Rock” in beautiful crème colored leather, which is a rare color for this design.

The sofa is in good vintage condition has a beautiful patina to the leather. It has no defects or repairs and is still very comfortable.

Gerard van den Berg is a Dutch designer who was the co-founder and one of the leading designer for Montis the Netherlands. His designs usually have organic and robust shapes. So has this Rock. With its high back it is quite clear why it is nicknamed this way. It makes a massive appearance in your room and almost wants to swallow you with its comfy soft cushions. Due to its high back it is also great to use the sofa to separate an area.
